Fukuoka Area

Here, we are going to introduce the sense of distance within the Fukuoka region and surroundings. We are talking about the region of Kyushu, starting from a station called Hakata.

In the northern part of Kyushu, whose center is Fukuoka, the railroad system is well developed. On the contrary, it is slightly scattered in the central and southern part of the region. The same can be said about the road network, which is well developed in every city and its surroundings but not as much in the other areas.

So, to put it in a nutshell… In Kyushu, to move from east to west, or from the north to the south, you might want to consider catching a flight. There is a Shinkansen bullet train that runs through the West Coast of Kyushu, which can be quite handy to move north to south. In the vicinity of every town, there is usually a land way to move around such as busses, taxies etc.

As the region of Kyushu stretches from north to south, the climate of every region can be totally different, even in the same season. Be ready to observe a whole lot of different landscapes. Visiting Kyushu can be a wonderful experience, especially for those who like taking the overland route to travel throughout. Give it a thought!
